The UVW warranty is based on the car warranties that the parent company WMS provide to dealers nationwide.

In many dealerships, WMS warranties are now provided or sold instead of the AA or RAC warranties.

They have nearly 80,000 live policy holders and regularly pay out hundreds or even thousands of pounds, for example. The average engine claim on the UVW warranty is £2,169, which means some bills were higher! Likewise the typical automatic gearbox claim is £1,723, and all these claims are usually paid within 24 hours.

Older Car Cover

Many warranty companies only cover cars that are under 10 years old or have less than 100,000 miles on the clock. UVW will cover cars that are up to 15 years old or have 150,000 miles on the clock. This cover has more exclusions, so you must read the terms and conditions in detail. Principally it covers the larger mechanical problems, which while rare, are very expensive when they do fail.
