Click 4 Warranty Review

Click 4 Warranty, like GO Car Warranty, is an insurance warranty underwritten by Red Sands Insurance. But the cover levels are different. For example, Click 4 cover 'wear and tear' as standard on all their cover levels, whereas GO do not.

Click 4 have three levels of cover, all of which have a choice of claim limits: £3,000, £5,000 or £7,000.

The three levels take the same approach to benefits on covered parts, which is comprehensive. It includes all the things that their independent warranty competitors provide, such as unlimited claims up to the value of the car, a hire car contribution, immediate cover and cover for driving abroad. These benefits are clearly display on our warranty comparison table:

Where the cover levels (3 star, 4 star and 5 star) vary is in the actual parts they cover. Warranty Expert recommends that you always buy the best cover you can. The more parts covered, the more likely you are to receive a pay-out when the car breaks down. The higher the level of cover, the more parts with a high failure rate or large replacement cost, that will be covered.

Turbo Chargers, Four Wheel Drive, Air Conditioning and Anti-Lock Brakes can all be covered by Click 4, but are add-ons that increase your premium.

Unlike some warranty providers, who stop providing cover at 100,000 miles, Click 4 will cover cars up to 150,000 miles provided they are under 12 years old. But Click 4 also apply a 'betterment' charge which is a factor on older cars.

Because the insurer is replacing old parts with new, they think your car is better, and ask for a contribution to the cost, so that they have only paid for the proportion of cost that returns the car to its previous working standard. Warranty Expert does not agree with this view, but it is common to most insurance warranties.
