Mini Car Warranty Review
As with parent BMW, there are three levels of warranty available to Mini owners. These are listed below but we suggest carefully reading through the differences in cover and comparing to independent warranties before making a choice.
Cover can be purchased either monthly or annually on all three warranty options.
The policies are available in conjunction with Mini Insured Emergency Service, which is a roadside assistance programme.
MINI Insured Warranty & Insured Emergency Service is underwritten by AGA International SA and is administered in the UK by Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited.
We would advise considering the following issues when considering any Mini extended warranty:
- How does Mini define wear and tear?
- Opinions on what constitutes wear and tear vary greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer and insurer to insurer.
- Mini state that ‘channels and guides' are not covered in the warranty - check to see if damage resulting form a warrantied part causing a blockage which leads to water ingress would be covered.
- The warranty does not explicitly state that the alarm system is covered - check to see if this is the case.
We also advise making sure youknow the period you need the car to be covered for before comparing to quotes from independent car warranty providers, as they will offer discounts on 2 and 3 year warranty deals.

Engine, Timing Belts, Turbocharger, Gearbox, Final Drive, Four-wheel-drive, Propshaft.
Not covered:
Anything not mentioned above as well as Clutch (non-frictional items), Steering, Braking System, Cooling System, Electrical System, Starter Motor, Alternator, Electronic Control units, ABS, Fuel System, Batteries, all exhaust components (except Catalytic Converter), brake and clutch facings, discs and drums, bulbs and fuses, channels and guides, weather strips and seals, handles, hinges and check straps, trim, upholstery and cosmetic finishes, wheels and tyres, wiper blades and arms, glass, auxiliary drive belts, coolant and fuel hoses, the cleaning or adjustment of any component, all service items which will require periodic replacement and any item that has worn out rather than suffered from a defect.
Named Component Warranty
Maximum claim on this policy is the price paid for the vehicle. Only cars with less than 100,000 miles can qualify.
Covered:
